Front Porch Poured

November 13, 2009 They came and poured our front porch today. It is colored concrete, stamped and stained. It is amazing how they can make it look. Should add a lot of character to the porch. I wanted a wrap around porch where I can put 2 white rocking chairs. Hopefully someday I will have time to just sit and relax! I will be posting a few pics of them pouring and stamping.

Retaining Wall

November 12, 2009 I raced home from work to see our new retaining wall in the front of the house before dark. Here it is. Picture doesn't do rocks justice, they are quite pretty and will add some color to the landscape. There are two planters where we can
put trees.

My Contractor, Ryan

This is my contractor Ryan Johnson. I am really glad I chose Ryan to build our house. He is great. Here it is 7 am Sat morning and he is here sawcutting my house. He will go coach his boy's soccer game at 10. He background is in concrete. Monday I have to pick out the color of the concrete for my porch and patio, which they will pour next week since the weather is so good. Hopefully the wind won't be blowing.....

Pouring the Floors

Today, November 6, 2009 they poured the floors of the house. It wasn't the best day to pour concrete as the wind blew, and I mean blew, ALL day! Needless to say the top dried too quick and cracked in several places. It wouldn't be a big deal but we were going to use the concrete floor in several areas to save the cost of tiling. They can sawcut the concrete into 12 inch tile like sqares, stain and polish and it looks just like tile. Oh well, what are you going to do.

Front Yard

Adam is standing in what will be the front sidewalk/yard area. They accidently filled the dirt all the way up to the bottom of the front porch. They will have to dig that dirt back out because who has ever seen a porch rail along the ground?????
